Derek participated in the 2nd annual Business Steps Up: Hiring Our Heroes event at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.

Thank you so very much for taking the time to participate in our 2nd annual Business Steps Up: Hiring Our Heroes event on November 12, 2009. Your performance of the National Anthem and your new single “When They Come Back” was extraordinary and one of the highlights of the morning. We have received many very positive comments from our attendees. On a personal note, I have your CD in my car and have played your video on YouTube for my entire family and they love it! The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to supporting U.S. military personnel, their families and caregivers in their transition to civilian life. We depend on an all volunteer military force to defend our national security and realize that each member of the service will encounter the business community either after retirement or between deployments. As the largest representative of business, we intend to engage our skills in networking and facilitating relationships with the private sector, the military, government agencies and the non-profit community to highlight progress and identify needs to be addressed for our warriors and their families. We are looking forward to learning more about your new program - When They Come Back, We Give Back.
